APPROACH
The Passport Café’s renovated space is tied together by a universal brand that transports guests as they enter the space. Though the university’s blue and red are featured throughout, a range of patterns, colors, and finishes ensure the space isn’t limited to one story or culture. A wallpaper wrapping around the café pulls all the finishes together while speaking to all the different colors and cultures without being too direct.
As the café has shifted from students dining in to utilizing takeout and delivery options more frequently, the redesign allowed for a more seamless approach to mobile pickup and technological integration.
An integrated monitor connected to Grubhub’s service and high capacity storage shelving organized by patron’s names make the pickup process more seamless. The design of the space also simplifies the process for the campus’s new robotic delivery service. Shelving that houses the robots is located near the exit, ensuring easy access for workers to load the robots with food while also offering an easy path to the outside.
