The Meadow Café
Capital One’s newest café offers an inviting, refreshed space that hopes to welcome remote staff back to their Knolls campus.
The Meadow at Capital One’s Knolls campus is modeled after themes smbw developed for Capital One’s The Grove and Market 34 cafes. The renovation was driven following the COVID pandemic, as part of an effort to encourage staff to return to Capital One’s Knolls campus.

APPROACH
The Meadow uses similar finishes, graphics, palette, and design elements to tie Capital One’s corporate cafes together, while also creating a refreshed flavor of it’s own by introducing rich pops of red, floral graphics, hand crafted tile, and copper accents.
The project was a less extensive renovation than the projects that preceded it which challenged the design team to work as efficiently as possible with the given schedule and budget. Many parts of the space were reused from the existing layout of the serveries to the ceilings and lighting to help meet these goals.
