Role Description

Our paid internship program provides an immersive learning experience with hands-on opportunities for design on active projects. Our culture of teaching and mentorship is long-standing, and we value the contribution and perspectives that students bring to the studio. At smbw, interns join actual project teams with the responsibilities of a Junior-Level Interior Designer.

Responsibilities

Attend project team meetings to develop and implement thoughtful design solutions.

Develop design concepts and schemes, including material palettes, lighting, and furniture selections.

Creatively and interactively present design concepts and ideas.

Conduct project, jobsite, code, and precedent research.

Work on design documentation, details, and assembly of a full construction document set.

Using Revit, AutoCAD,InDesign, and SketchUP to produce high-quality drawings and renderings.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited program, majoring in architecture, engineering, or interior design.

Ability to work full-time during our 12-week paid internship program (May- August).

Strong graphic and design skills.

Working knowledge in Revit required (Sketch-Up, InDesign, and AutoCAD are helpful).

Ability to work well collaboratively and independently.
